Liran Nathan (born Leeran Oved Nathan; 20 November 1988) is a British-Israeli actor, producer, director and screenwriter.
Life and career[edit]
Nathan was was born and raised in Hackney, London. His parents are of Sephardic Jewish and Mizrahi Jewish descent. He joined the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain in 2005 and went on to attend the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City.
In 2016, he acquired the rights to produce a short-film based on the short-story Parallel Universes, by Israeli writer Etgar Keret[2]. Production took place in 2017 with Nathan directing and playing the film's protagonist. The film was screened at various international film festivals including the Newport Beach Film Festival and the British Urban Film Festival, where he was nominated for Best Male Emerging Talent[3][4]
Later that year he appeared in British television shows Unforgotten and Britannia, and had a guest appearance in BBC Radio 4 Sitcom Josh Howie's Losing it, alongside comedian Josh Howie[5].
In 2019, he was cast by British director Sam Yates in the TV Movie Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar[6] and appeared in the Christmas romcom Last Christmas directed by Paul Feig. He also filmed for Marvel Studios upcoming Black Widow directed by Cate Shortland. The film was set for release in March 2020 but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The release has since been pushed back to May 7, 2021[7]
In 2020, Nathan appeared in season two of BBC comedy Ghosts[8]
