Liron Simcha Menahem (born August 16, 1998)[1] is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She is best known for her role in the ensemble track "It's Not My Time" featuring Rob Ford[2] (written by Ralph Hamelmann), and her collaboration with Alex Maciel on her 2016 debut song, "I Love The Feeling".[3]
She released her follow-up single Piña Coladas on July 20, 2018.[4]
Early life
Liron Simcha Menahem was born on August 16, 1998, in Toronto, Ontario, to Galit Menahem (née Kachel), a Paralegal and Women Abuse counsellor[5], and Azriel Menahem, a Computer Networking Professor. Liron has three younger brothers, Elad, Edan and Orel. She began singing at age 3 and performed in competitions throughout her early childhood alongside her brother, Elad [6]. She taught herself to play guitar and piano and started songwriting at age 16.[7]
Liron was raised in Vaughan, Ontario, where she attended Westmount Collegiate Institute,[8]
Career
2016-present
Liron's debut single "I Love The Feeling," which featured social media influencer Alex Maciel, was released in September 2016. The song earned her a Top 3 spot on the Twitter Trending Charts with the hashtag #ilovethefeelingvideo within less than 24 hours[1] and over 25,000 views within the song's first week of release.[9]
Her follow-up single "Piña Coladas" was released on July 20, 2018, earning her inclusion in almost 50 Spotify playlists with a total playlist follower count of 600,000 in under a week[10]. The official lyric video of her single "Piña Coladas" was released on her YouTube channel on July 20, 2018 [11]
As of August 2018, her YouTube and Vevo channel have over 70,000 views combined.[11] [12]. Liron wrote the song as an anthem for self-love. “The lyrics for Piña Coladas are all about living for the moment and not letting the opinions of others have a negative impact on you"[13]
Liron's newest single "Bad Intentions" is set to be released on August 24, 2018.
