Lisa Guillermin Gable is a former US government official and corporate executive. She served under four U.S. Presidents and two governors.[1]
Education[edit]
Gable graduated with a bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Virginia and holds a master's degree from Georgetown University's National Security Studies program.[2][3] She also studied at the U.S. Army War College and National Taiwan Normal University.[4]
Career[edit]
Gable is the author of the Wall Street Journal best seller, Turnaround: How to Change Course When Things Are Going South.[5][6][7]
Gable was the first woman appointed as a U.S. Commissioner General for the World's Fair, serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Expo 2005 in Aichi, Japan.[8][9][10] She was a U.S. Delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2007, a Commissioner of the White House Fellows Commission and from 1994 to 1995 served as vice-chair of the U.S. Defense Department's Defense Department Advisory Committee on Women in the Services, and Deputy Associate Director of Presidential Personnel at the White House.[11][3][12]
