List of FIFA U-20 World Cup hat-tricks

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Ramón Díaz is the first footballer in the U-20 World Cup to score two hat-tricks

This is a list of all hat-tricks scored during FIFA Under-20 World Cups; that is, the occasions when a footballer has scored three or more goals in a single football U-20 World Cup match (not including qualification matches). Scoring a hat-trick in a World Cup is a relatively rare event: only 31 hat-tricks have been scored in the 20 editions of the World Cup tournament. As FIFA is the governing body of football (soccer), official hat-tricks are only noted when FIFA recognises that at least three goals were scored by one player in one match.

The first hat-tricks were scored on the same day by Guina of Brazil and Luis Placencia of Mexico in 1977; the most recent (as of 20 June 2015) was by Bence Mervó of Hungary, playing against North Korea in 2015.
