Roger Federer won a total of 15 Major titles (out of a total of 17) in the 2000s, including five consecutive Wimbledon and US Open titles . He completed his Career Grand Slam at the 2009 French Open, having defeated Sweden's Robin Soderling in the final
Serena Williams is the winner of 15 Grand Slam singles titles, 10 of which came during the 2000s in a period of United States domination in women's tennis. She completed her Career Grand Slam at the 2003 Australian Open having won all four majors in a row, however not in a single calendar season, she would later go on to complete the Career Golden Slam having won the Olympic Gold Medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics
Goran Ivanišević became the only male entrant to have won a Grand Slam as a wildcard after winning the 2001 Wimbledon Championships ranked 125th in the world, he would later retire in 2004
Kim Clijsters became the third unseeded and first unranked female champion of a Grand Slam title by winning the 2009 US Open. Clijsters also became the first mother to win a major since Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1980, and the first mother to win the US Open since Margaret Court in 1973. She won a total of two of her four Grand Slams in the 2000s
Maria Sharapova won the 2004 Wimbledon Championships at the age of 17, and became the third youngest women to win a Grand Slam by doing so. She would enter the Top 10 for the first time post tournament, and would go on to become World No. 1 the following year, she would later complete a career Grand Slam having won all four majors
