List of Paramore band members

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

American rock band Paramore was formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004 by Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, Zac Farro, Jeremy Davis, and Jason Bynum. Lead vocalist Hayley Williams is the band's only constant member.[1] Founding members Josh Farro and Zac Farro announced they were leaving the band on December 18, 2010.[2][3] Original bassist Jeremy Davis first left the band in 2005 and was replaced by John Hembree, returning later in 2005 after Hembree's departure, before leaving again in 2015.[4][5][6] Founding drummer Zac Farro was replaced by various touring musicians during his absence, before rejoining in 2017.[7][8] Paramore currently employs several touring musicians to fill the vacancies left by the departures of Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis.[9]

History[edit]

2004–2007: First and second departure of Jeremy Davis[edit]

The original lineup consisted of: Hayley Williams on lead vocals, Josh Farro on guitar, Zac Farro on drums, Jeremy Davis on bass, and Jason Bynum on guitar. This lineup recorded "Here We Go Again" on their debut album All We Know Is Falling. Davis left the band before the recording of the rest of the album.[10] Session musician Lucio Rubino was brought in to play bass on the rest of the album.[11] John Hembree was hired to replace Davis shortly after their debut album was recorded. Hembree left the band after a brief tenure. Davis rejoined to replace Hembree. Guitarist Jason Bynum left the band shortly after Davis rejoined. Bynum was replaced by Hunter Lamb. Davis was later fired from the band before the recording of their second album, Riot!.[12] Guitarist Hunter Lamb later left the band before getting married.[13][14] Brian Weaver of the band Silvertide played bass on Riot! after Davis left the band a second time. Jeremy Davis was fired before most of Riot! was recorded. Brian Weaver of the band Silvertide played bass on the album as a session musician. Jeremy Davis rejoined in time to record vocals for three songs on Riot!.

2007–2010: Taylor York joins[edit]

Shortly after Riot! was released, guitarist Taylor York replaced former guitarist Hunter Lamb. Taylor York's first appearance on a recording was the live album Live in the UK 2008. Taylor York's first appearance on a studio recording was on the single "Decode," written by Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, and Taylor York.

Brand New Eyes was released in 2009, which would be the last time guitarist Josh Farro would appear on a studio recording. Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro left the band in December of 2010, after the release of the 2010 Summer Tour EP.

2010–2015: Departure of Josh Farro and Zac Farro[edit]

Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro left the band in December of 2010, after the release of the 2010 Summer Tour EP. After the Farros' departure, the band started employing several touring musicians, including Taylor York's brother Justin as a touring guitarist. Jon Howard was also hired as a touring guitarist.[15] Veteran session musician Josh Freese was hired as the band's touring drummer for the 2011 South American tour.[16]

In 2011, the band released the non-album single "Monster," the first single recorded following the departure of the Farro brothers. Guitarist Taylor York played drums on the single.[17] The EP Singles Club was released in 2011. Taylor York also played drums on every song from Singles Club. "Renegade" was the first single released from Singles Club. "Renegade" was featured as a short introduction tune on the web-series, "From the Field" – a documentary produced by the band about the band's daily lives on the Summer Warped Tour.[18]

In 2013, the band's self-titled album became the band's first and currently only album without drummer Zac Farro.

2015–present: Return of Zac Farro, new touring musicians, and After Laughter[edit]

In December of 2015, original bassist Jeremy Davis left the band a third time, leaving Hayley Williams as the only original member in the band.[19] Joey Howard, brother of touring guitarist Jon Howard, joined as the band's touring bassist after Jeremy Davis' departure.[20]

In 2017, drummer Zac Farro rejoined the band before the release of After Laughter, the bands fifth album.[21]

Following the release of After Laughter, two new touring members were added, keyboardist and guitarist Logan MacKenzie and percussionist Joseph Mullen.[22]
