A Five-wicket haul in cricket occurs when a bowler takes 5 wickets or more in an innings. 22 Sri Lankan players have taken five-wicket hauls in One Day International matches, where the first fifer was taken by Ashantha de Mel in 1983 against Pakistan with the figures 5 for 39 runs.[1]
