In 2019 Gilbert Chikli wore a silicone mask to impersonate the French Defense Minister, and broadcast by video chat a message to various people to scam 90 million dollars from them, claiming France needed the money to free citizens of France that were kidnapped in the Middle East and Africa by Islamist terrorists. Drug lord Clauvino da Silva tried to escape from prison by having his 19 daughter visit him in prison, and he then wore a silicone mask to look like her, plus a wig and her clothing, and tried to sneak out, leaving her behind. [2]
On October 29, 2010, the Air Canada Flight 018 Stowaway Incident occurred, where a young man taking the Air Canada Flight 018 from Hong Kong to Vancouver wore a silicone mask to impersonate a white elderly man, to use someone else's identification to get into Canada.[3]
A Southern California bank robber known as the Geezer Bandit used a silicone mask to look like an old man. [4][5]
In 2002 a white man used a mask he bought from SPFXmasks to appear as a black man and committed robbers in Cincinnati, Ohio. A man who looked like the mask was wrongfully arrested. Only after the girlfriend of the real criminal found the mask and some ink stained money and reported it to the police, did they realize their mistake. [6]
In China criminals can get silicone masks cheaply on the internet and use them for criminal activity. [7]
