List of world records in indoor rowing
The indoor rowing world records are the fastest times and distances for the world record events as set by Concept2, achieved on Concept2 rowers.
Record events[edit]
There are nine world records for the fastest time to cover a distance, and three world records for the greatest distance achieved in a set time, as follows.[1] Lists are held for both lightweight and heavyweight (open) categories. Lightweight men are those weighing 75 kilograms (165 lb) and under, while lightweight women weigh 61.5 kilograms (136 lb) and below.[2] Lightweights are able to race and break records in either lightweight or open categories, but due to the nature of weight advantages in indoor rowing, it is extremely rare for a lightweight to hold any open records. The indoor rowing 'season' runs from May 1 until April 30 of the specified year. In addition to standard individual events, there are also individual and team ultra-distance events, the latter of which are often attempted by various indoor rowing clubs.[3]
