Irie D-Tailz : Born in the Jungles Of Morija Scott Hospital on July 21st, 1997 with the given name Liteboho Moabi to Mr Thabo Seliane and Tholang Moabi, known to many as the grandson of the Priest. Irie D-Tailz along with his brother was brought up under the Christian livity but soon Irie chose the Rastafarian livity that is portrayed by him outward and inwardly. Irie being the 1st son out of 2 took to the interest in doing music at the tender age of sixteen. Growing up, Irie D-Tailz's first musical influences came by seeing his childhood friends singing while they played; he would DJ on the mic and mix down on the set whilst they chant and sing. All together, Irie D-Tailz and his friends would get involved by dancing and singing along to whatever music was being played at the moment.
"For fun, I and my friends would put on pretend concerts, fashion shows, or we would create our plays from cartoons we've watched. We would gather our family friends and have them watch us perform".
Despite growing up within the Christian lifestyle and strong beliefs within the faith, Irie D-Tailz would listen to all styles of music, genres ranging from Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-hop, R&B from the old school to new school was the kind of music you would hear blasting out in the countrysides of Morija.
Irie's other influences came from artists like Bob Marley. One of Irie's favourite songs was "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley and The Wailers, he would always choose to sing that particular song whenever he had the mic. Other musical influence also came from artists like Ms. Lauryn Hill, Black Thought of The Roots and a whole lot of other music that influenced him to be the versatile artist he expresses himself to be through his artistry. As Irie D-Tailz got older he began to take to music on a serious level, he started out freestyling hip hop, his friend Tom Rapaki also has a major part to play in Irie D-Tailz becoming the artist we know today. He taught him the musical fundamentals he needed to know in becoming the best he could be and that’s a better recording and performing artist. Kronik Purplehaze has mixtapes with him like The Art Of Rolling, "Psychedelic Thoughts" by Stonerville, along with a couple of other songs they made together.
Irie D-Tailz started as a performing artist before he started recording music officially, he has performed on big stages like Morija Arts And Cultural Festivities (MaCuFe). Irie also shared the stage with some of Southern Africa's biggest international stars, icons, and veteran and legends of African Sound. Artistes like Ntate Tshepo Tshola, Miza, Bricks and Seipati Thwasa.
Irie D-tailz is also featured on various productions alongside his team members of Elevated Music Studios Group Of Individual Artistes, which is a musical workshop founded by him and his childhood friend Tom Rapaki (Kronik Purplehaze) and was designed to help shape up and coming artistes in getting themselves prepared fundamentally in becoming the best artiste that that individual can be to the best of his/her ability. Elevated Music Studios is also a musical group of individuals. On July 6th, 2019 Irie D-tailz along with Elevated Music Studios members dropped an album EP called The Beauty In All. A hip hop EP produced by Kgobs, an affiliated hip hop producer from South Africa. The EP was hosted by one of Kgobs' artistes TNS (Take No Shit from his high school crew Disconnectors) followed by a couple of collabs alongside his friend Tom Rapaki aka Kronik Purplehaze also known as Sunset Tom followed by another collab he did with Moses Da Stoner and SoLYT.
Irie D-tailz' musical mission is to spread the words of RasTafari and unite the people through music from all walks of life "Because music unites the people together no matter colour or race, I see my music as inspiration to many, my music is a message carrying music to uplift the minds of the people, no matter the genre I'm doing. I do Hip-hop, Reggae and quite a couple of others. and although we use the music for recreating we should also take it as spiritual healing there should always be something to learn from within its contents".
Irie D-tailz is effortlessly focusing on building his name as a brand, he's worked hard towards building his musical catalogue, working alongside various artists. Irie D-tailz' previously released projects for 2020-23 are "I-Grade Promotion" produced by Elevated Music Studios that was released on July 21st 2020, and 1997p.t1 (EP) still produced by Elevated Music Studios that was released July 24th 2022. Irie D-tailz is currently working on a lot of new musical content, collabs alongside many artists, and is very anticipated to share his musical journey through music to her faithful supporting fans worldwide to enjoy.
