Liv Hansen (born 25 October) is a Danish actress and visual artist known for her work in independent films, theater, and television. [1][2][3]
Career[edit]
Hansen was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark to Danish parents and spent parts of her early life in both Denmark and North America. She is fluently bilingual in English and Danish.[4] After high school, she moved to Los Angeles to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, where she trained under instructors such as Academy Award-nominated actress Sally Kirkland, Marc Marno, and Cathleen Leslie. This training laid the foundation for her nuanced approach to acting, which includes a distinctive ability to perform in both American and Danish dialects.[5]
Hansen’s filmography includes a range of independent films and television projects, such as the British thriller Caught In Between (2025), A Universe Apart (2026), and Pete Travis' City of Tiny Lights (2017). In Born Evil (2018), Hansen portrayed Louise, a pregnant nurse, in a performance that contributed to the film’s nomination for Best Short Film at the Sitges Film Festival in 2018.[6] She has also represented Denmark as a jury member at the European Natural Beauty Awards in 2024.[7][8][9]
Art career[edit]
In addition to her acting career, Hansen is a visual artist whose work reflects an interest in mid-20th-century Scandinavian history, particularly themes of Danish cultural heritage and nostalgia. Her artwork often explores Danish life from the 1930s to the 1960s, the same period depicted in the work of her great-granduncle, Aage Rasmussen. Through her dual roles as an actress and artist, Hansen brings a sense of historical depth to her creative projects.
