Liza Rachenko (/ˈlzə/, born July 16, 1999)[1] is a Ukrainian-American actress and filmmaker.[2][3] She is best known for her role as Alice in the feature film The Eavesdropper (2015), Olivia in the short-length film Christmas Night (2018) and Len in the multinational film High in the Alps (2018). She has also directed Elbrus Together (2019), a feature-length documentary about a family of nine people who are in pursuit of the Elbrus climb.[4][5]


Biography[edit]

Liza Rachenko was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine and moved to New York at a young age.[6] Although being born in Ukraine, Liza considers herself an American - "first, last, and always".[7][8] During her time in New York, she attended classes at the New York Film Academy and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.[9] Liza participated in the 2016 Cannes Film Festival with her film Escape.[10] She also attended the same festival in 2017 and 2018 as a film industry professional.[11] Liza made multiple appearances on independent films produced by Brooklyn College and NYU Tisch School Of The Arts.[12]

  • Liza Rachenko is commonly referred to as "Liza". Her name is pronounced "Leezuh", and is considered to be closest to the name "Lisa" but with one letter difference.[13]
  • Liza booked various modeling gigs in NYC, but declined most of them. However, she did the catwalk for the International Fashion Show which was held in New Jersey in November 2016.[14]
  • Graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, USA, where she participated in multiple Campus MovieFest Festivals.[15][16]
