Lizzie McGuire is an television series that is in production by Hulu in the United States. The series stars Hilary Duff reprising her role as the titular character Lizzie McGuire.[1] It is the relaunch/sequel to the 2001 show of the same name by Terri Minsky for the service.
Premise[edit]
The series follows Lizzie McGuire, a 13-year-old girl who dreams of being popular at school, with the help of her best friends Miranda and Gordo, and centers on Lizzie's life, dealing with her family, mostly her parents Jo and Sam and her younger brother Matt, and normal teenage life issues. Lizzie has an animated alter ego that represents her feelings.

Production[edit]
In January 2019, it was reported that Terri Minsky and Hilary Duff met the executives of Disney Channel. Discussions with the network for Duff to reprise her role as Lizzie McGuire in a revival, and Minsky returning as showrunner took place.[1] In August 2019, it was reported that the series will be released exclusively on Disney+.[3] Principle photography was announced to have commenced by October of the same year.[4]
