Locrian Democracy
Locrian democracy[1] is the creation and subject matter of the short book The Locrian Manifesto. It is an attempt to modernise current forms of democracy, specifically that of the UK, with which the author has the most experience.
By limiting the scope of the mandate given to elected representatives, it holds them accountable for their actions and forces them to step down from their roles and seek re-election when they breach their mandate.
The book goes further and establishes the principle of "moral authority" in the context of decision-making, where a person without a reasonable understanding of what they are deciding lacks the moral authority to make the decision, unless they listen to and heed the advice of someone who does have the understanding.
