LogPoint is a Danish multinational corporation headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark with its North American headquarters in Boston, MA.[1] The company produces next-gen Security Information Event Management (SIEM) software, for searching, monitoring, and analyzing machine-generated big data, for Security, Compliance, Network Operations, and Business Intelligence purposes.[2]
LogPoint (the product) ingests data (logs) from a multitude of sources, normalizes data into a common taxonomy (format) in real-time and stores data in an encrypted format.[3] Based on normalized data, LogPoint can generate graphs, reports, alerts, dashboards, and visualizations and perform data analysis, including analysis based on UEBA (Machine Learning) technology.[4]
History
The company was established as an IT security consultancy in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2003. The acquisition of Roskilde University-based startup Immune in 2007 added the LogEx Log Management solution to the product portfolio. In 2009 the company was renamed ImmuneSecurity and the first generation of the LogPoint Security Information Event Management (SIEM) solution was launched. In 2012 a Big Data, NoSQL design was introduced to the market in LogPoint version 5.0, and the company changed its name to LogPoint.[5]
Products
The LogPoint SIEM solution provides threat detection, security monitoring, forensic investigation tools, and incident response. It can be installed as a physical appliance, a virtual appliance or purchased as software.[6] LogPoint UEBA is a cloud-based UEBA module that is an integrated add-on to the LogPoint SIEM solution.[7]
Recognition
In April 2019 LogPoint was recognized as a Gartner Peer Insights Customers' Choice for SIEM.[8]
In 2020 LogPoint was included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for SIEM as a Visionary.[9]
