Logan K. Phillips (May 1986–Present) is an American woodsmith.
Early Life
Logan K. Phillips was born in Appleton, Wisconsin where he was raised. During his youth, Phillips was a woodworking and aircraft enthusiast. He resided in Appleton through high school. After graduation, Phillips moved to San Antonio, Texas where he currently lives with his wife and dog.
Work
Phillips specializes in making unique works of wood using pallets. He started selling them in small shops around the San Antonio area, such as Boerne, New Braunfels, Fredericksburg, and Floresville where they became very popular. Phillips was recognized by San Antonio mayor Julian Castro[1] for donating more than half of his profits to the local YMCA and SA Youth Program which helps with dropout prevention.
Honors and Recognition
- His work has been displayed in Appleton at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center as well as during Fiesta on the San Antonio River Walk.
- He received an honorary degree from Lawrence University, voted one of the top colleges in Wisconsin.[2]
- Won the People's Choice Award for Design from Popular Woodworking Magazine[3]
- Runner-up in the Top Shelf category from Popular Woodworking Magazine[4]
