Logistics Health, Incorporated (LHI) is an American corporation with corporate headquarters in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Logistics Health was founded to sell healthcare to government and commercial organizations. LHI has provided customized health care solutions[clarification needed] supported by its national network of more than 25,000 medical and dental providers. LHI vends delivery and management of medical readiness, occupational health and wellness services to the United States Department of Defense and the Department of Health and Human Services.[citation needed]
Company growth[edit]
LHI completed a six-story corporate office building along the Mississippi River in downtown La Crosse in 2006,[1] followed by a second six-story building in 2008, and a third building with parking ramp in 2011.[2] In 2011, LHI was acquired by OptumHealth of Golden Valley, Minnesota, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group.[3] In September, 2014 the office buildings where LHI is based were sold to UnitedHealth Group for $45 million.[4][5]
Management team[edit]
LHI incorporated under its current name in 1999 under the chairmanship of Donald J. Weber. Since then, contract work for several major corporations, including CSX Transportation, and government clientele such as the US Army Reserve and Army National Guard has made the corporation profitable.[citation needed] In 2006, former Wisconsin governor and United States Secretary of Health and Human Services under the Bush administration, Tommy Thompson, joined the company as Board Chairman.
