Lois Brown was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. She is a writer, actor, director, choreographer, dancer and dramaturge for both theatre and dance.
Work with Others[edit]
She is a strong collaborative member of the arts community within Newfoundland and Labrador and across Canada. Lois works regularly with Montreal dance artists Thea Patterson and Peter Trotszmer.
She recently directed Perchance Theatre’s (Cupids) production of Our Eliza by Megan Gail Coles.
From 2014 to 2015 she ran the Stephenville Theatre Festival on the west coast of Newfoundland.[1]

Solo Work[edit]
Her latest work is I Am a Genius: does anyone here know me? , which premiered at Neighbourhood Dance Works’ Festival of New Dance, with live performances by composer James O’Callaghan.[3] It has since been performed at Toronto Summerworks' Festival[4] and will be presented at Fluidity Festival Calgary and by RCA Theatre Company St. John's.
Awards and nominations[edit]
Canada Council for the Arts Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Prize, 2005, recognizing exceptional contribution to the various artistic milieux in Canada, by mid-career artists. Lois was awarded the prize for Theatre.
