Long Branch Mayoral Election 2018
The 2018 election for Mayors of Long Branch, New Jersey took place in Long Branch, on May 8, 2018. Elections for all seats on the five member City Council will be held the same day. Elections are non-partisan and candidates are not listed by political party. Incumbent Mayor Adam Schneider, after winning seven straight elections for mayor, lost his bid for an eigth term to Council President John Pallone. Pallone is the younger brother of Democratic Congressman Frank Pallone
Candidates[edit | edit source]
The deadline for candidates to file for election was March 3, 2018, at which time each potential candidate must submit a petition signed by at least 146 voters. Three people had requested petitions necessary to mount a mayoral campaign:
- Avery Grant, Vietnam Veteran and Former Member of the Long Branch Board of Education
- Adam Schneider, incumbent Mayor
- John Pallone, City Council President
