Long Island Library Resources Council
Long Island Library Resources Council (LILRC) is a regional not for profit organization [2]serving academic, special, public, school libraries and library systems in Suffolk County [3] and Nassau County [4], New York. Its purpose is to enhance access to information, encourage resource sharing, and promote library interest. The council was founded in 1966 and is one of nine New York State Regional Councils and part of the Empire State Library Network [5] (ESLN).
Overview LILRC is a membership-based organization whose purpose is to improve and develop library reference and research resources and services within Nassau and Suffolk Counties. LILRC provides educational workshops and conferences, digitization grants to member libraries, an equipment loan program, archival consultations, and fills and reimburses medical interlibrary loans for member hospital libraries. LILRC also provides member discounts to library subscription databases and services and advocacy support for state and federal library funding.
