LongeviQuest (LQ) is a scientific organization that specializes in extreme longevity and age validation of supercentenarians.[1][2][3]

It was founded by Ben Meyers and Robert Young in 2022,[4] and has been cited in several media outlets as an authority on the subject, including Guinness World Records.[5][6][7]

History

LongeviQuest members, along with director Ben Meyers, have visited and interviewed numerous supercentenarians and centenarians worldwide.[8][9] Their first visit was to Maria Branyas in Catalonia, Spain,[10] who was the world's oldest living person at the time. They have also met with Elizabeth Francis,[11] formerly the oldest living person in the United States, and Shitsui Hakoishi [ja] of Japan, the world's oldest living active barber as of March 2025.[12]

As of December 2023, Yumi Yamamoto served as the president of Japan's research branch. She was also the great-granddaughter of Shigeyo Nakachi, who, at the time of her death in 2021 at the age of 115, was the second-oldest living person in Japan.[13]
