Looch
Looch is an American dramedy independent film written and co-directed by Estravious "Trae" Gibson also in his starring debut role, and starring William Barnes, Derrick Gray, Erasmus Turner, Ashley John, Zachary Blake. Looch was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia from February 1, 2015 to February 8, 2016. Looch was based on the popular web series Natural Gentlemen which was seen on YouTube.
Plot[edit]
Looch is a film about a successful African American talent manager Rodney "Looch" Williams, who is looking to make a huge leap to starting his own TV network. With the odds against him and the pressures of love, friendships, and money, how will Looch reach is goals without losing everything?
The film opens with Looch's close friend Nick "The Champ" Carter retiring from the boxing world. Looch was his manager. Donte Armstrong who also is close friends with Looch and Donte who was Nick's promoter. The team of three has seen the highs and lows of the business, ends on the high note of success. Looch plans his next move after Nick retires to do the impossible which is starting up a TV. The goal is for himself and business partners and close friends Nick and Donte Armstrong to build and plan to start this TV network. The motivation behind starting the TV network comes from Looch's vision to push the culture forward in a positive manner. Since Looch has been in the entertainment industry for so long he feels this could build a foundation to help motivate and spark the minds of the younger and passionate generation of entertainment and art. Looch prepares himself to take on Vicom who is the global king of mass media, who approves who starts a TV network and content gets aired. Along his Journey to starting the network Looch deals with find out he has a child from a one-night stand with an old business associate named Jade. Looch also deals with things and people from his pass resurfacing. An old childhood friend turned foe Kilo who is said to be the street kingpin of Atlanta watches the legitimate success of Looch and decides to throw a wrench in his plans. Kilo makes a point to cause chaos and become a distraction to Looch and his team. Will he show the growth of a man or will fail from the lack of bad decision making?
