Lordship Africa is a privately owned equity vehicle based in Kenya and is a subsidiary of the Lordship Group that was established in Europe in 1991.[1].
It is housed on 4th Ngong Avenue in Upper Hill, Nairobi and it has two active projects; Karen Hills and 88 Nairobi Condominium Tower[2][3][4][5].
Karen Hills
Is a walled housing community characterized by 60 one-acre plots in a natural environment in Karen facing the Hills of Ngong. Common amenities are spread across another four acres.
In 2021 some owners were up in arms over service charges collected at the facility and sought resolve from the courts.[6]
88 Nairobi
88 Nairobi Condominium Tower a 44-floor high-end apartment block currently under construction in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The construction budget is estimated at approx. US$50 million and is expected to be complete in 2023[7][8][9]
It was initially planned to be complete by 2018 but delays[10][11][12][13] led to the shift in completion dates.
The delay in some cases forced Lordship Africa to refund some upfront pre-construction proceeds from clients[14] .
Other projects
In 2017, Lordship Africa was one of the firms awarded a mega-deal shilling tender [15] to put up to 8,000 affordable houses across Nairobi.
That is after Nairobi County Assembly, through a committee on Housing, approved an Urban Renewal & Housing Regeneration Programme based on a Sessional Paper 1 of 2018.
However, Lordship Africa’s tender award was cancelled by the Nairobi City Council after citing a delay in the signing of a JVA. The matter is in the High Court of Kenya.[16][17]
