Lorena Mesa is an American data scientist, software engineer and conference speaker. She is the current Chairperson of the Python Software Foundation since 2020[1], Journal of Open Source Software editor[2], and PyLadies Chicago organizer[3]. Lorena is a self-described Trekkie, advocate of responsible computer science[4], and often speaks about ethics, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in technology.
