Lorena Mesa is an American data scientist, software engineer, and conference speaker. She is the current Chairperson of the Python Software Foundation since 2020.[1] She is also a Journal of Open Source Software editor.[2] Furthermore, she is a PyLadies Chicago organizer.[3] Lorena is a self-described Trekkie, an advocate of responsible computer science,[4] and often speaks about ethics, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in technology.
