Lorenzo Mannino is a Sicilian director, screenwriter and filmmaker, born in Catania on 13/06/1990; he is a son of art, as his father, Orazio, is a theater actor from Catania, with over 35 years of experience. From an early age Lorenzo developed a strong interest in cinema, video games, and fiction in general - in a completely autonomous and independent way from his father - who, indeed, would have liked to prevent his son from somehow following in his father's footsteps. During high school he began shooting his first amateur short films, encouraged by his theater teacher. After the Liceo Classico (he attends the Spedalieri) he decides to enroll at the University of Philosophy in Catania, which, after two years, he abandons. In the meantime, he begins to work semi-professionally as a videomaker for dance evenings and for some rappers from Catania (including L'elfo). Then he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania - in the Technological Arts course - where after three intense years of study and work he graduated with 110 cum laude with a degree thesis on the theme "Road movie, from the 60s to today ", also bringing a short film, the first he made with dialogues, entitled "Ct duel" as a graduation project. A few months later, he was hired at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Milan, in the Advertising and Business Cinema course. He moved to the Lombard capital, where he too, began working for some communication agencies and various production companies, compatibly with the intense commitments of the film school directed by Maurizio Nichetti. He also managed to shoot a documentary in Sardinia, entitled "The silk of the sea" together with the photographer Nick Gritti. After three years he graduated by making a short film, "I catch you; nightmare in search of an author", based on the story of the deceased writer from Catania, Gianluca Vittorio and also realizing the direction and creativity of the "Beermouth" commercial, for the brewery " Baladin". After the Experimental Center, he moved to Turin, then returned to Milan to work 1 month and a half for "X-factor" as a filmmaker for social content, then returned to Catania where he carried out various film projects such as "Pulp Sicily Stories", together to other directors and the project for a film "Tempo rubato", written by Paolo Picciolo. Then he went to Calabria for a film residence, the "Kinoguarimba", where he makes a short film, "From the sea", with the photographer Vincenzo Maddaluno, with whom he decided to found the association "Cinenomadi", a few months later, together with the musician Danilo Randazzo. A few months later he returns to Turin, where he makes another short film "La città irreale" and carries on a Horror film project, as co-director and co-writer, with the video production company "Blackfox". Finally, he returns to Catania and wrote another film "Bassa Marea", always a horror / thriller, set in Acitrezza. Then with the association, he realizes the Nomade Cinema Festival, again in Acitrezza. He was then chosen as a filmmaker by the "Smartbuyglasses" company and returned to Turin.
