Lorenzo de Plano (born April 16, 1994) is an Italian-American investor and entrepreneur. He is the founder of DPGW and Solace Technologies.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Lorenzo de Plano was born in New York City, New York. He earned a B.A. degree from the University of Southern California.

Career[edit]

In 2013, Lorenzo De Plano co-founded Early Adopter Network, a software testing company that worked with various startups and accelerators such as Betaworks, DOTS, and Snapchat.[2]

In 2014, Lorenzo De Plano co-founded DPGW, a branding, market research and advertising firm that has worked with notable clients such as Pepsi, Lincare, Soros Capital, Kagome, Sparkling Ice and others.[2]

In 2015, Lorenzo De Plano co-founded Solace Technologies, an adult focused vape manufacturing company, which was later acquired by Turning Point Brands (NYSE: TPB) in 2019 for $15.25m.[3][4][5]

In 2019, Lorenzo De Plano became the Vice President of the New Ventures Division of Turning Point Brands (NYSE: TPB) where he oversaw strategic product development and product launch initiatives for the company. Lorenzo De Plano also worked on the relaunch of the iconic Zig Zag brand and was responsible for building the brand’s digital distribution platform.[6][7] Lorenzo De Plano also led key marketing initiatives for Zig Zag including a collaboration with the luxury fashion house Amiri, which was featured on GQ and Esquire.[8][9]

Lorenzo De Plano was featured in Inc. 30 under 30 in 2017,[10] and his work has been featured on CNN,[1] Forbes,[11] and other media outlets.

COVID-19 pandemic[edit]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lorenzo De Plano worked on an initiative with Turning Point Brands to donate bulk sanitizer fluids to hospitals and non-profits across the United States. The initiative resulted in hundreds of hospitals, pharmacies and non-profits receiving sanitizer fluids during the pandemic.[12]
