Louder than Life Louder than Life is a heavy metal/rock music festival hosted in Louisville, Kentucky. The inaugural festival took place on October 4-5, 2014 and headlined with Korn, Judas Priest, Stone Temple Pilots, and Limp Bizkit [2]. This two day festival at Champions Park turned into a three day event by 2018 and moved to a new venue, The Kentucky Exposition Center, by 2019. Louder than Life is held at the end of September or beginning of October each year. The festival production company of Louder than Life, Danny Wimmer Presents, has a focus on rock festivals and has developed other similar events such as Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville , Aftershock , and more.

The festival has stayed true to its roots with a focus on rock and metal, but usually includes a handful of rap and classic rock acts each year. Some of the notable acts include Guns N' Roses , Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Slash, Slayer, Staind, Slipknot, Korn, Rob Zombie, Ice Cube, Alice in Chains, Kid Rock, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Incubus, and more. The festival features a large emphasis on the arts with multiple life sized installations, exhibits, and vendors, as well as a large collection of food trucks.
