Louisiana Food Prize

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Louisiana Food Prize is a set of culinary events put on by Film Prize Foundation, Inc. The Food Prize is centered around the Battle for the Golden Fork, in which 20 local chefs compete for a $5,000 cash prize. The event was founded in 2015 by Gregory Kallenberg. It is based in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The Golden Fork[edit]

The Golden Fork is the grand prize of the Louisiana Food Prize. It includes a $5,000 cash prize and a "Golden Fork" trophy.

Judging[edit]

The initial phase of the competition is split into two sessions. 10 chefs of the total 20 compete in each session. Four chefs are determined by the vote of the Society of the Golden Fork (a group of participants with paid tickets), and one more is selected by vote on shreveporttimes.com. From there, the final five chefs compete in a ""Chopped"-like" competition in which they have an hour to prepare a dish from mystery ingredients. A panel of judges determines the final winner.[1].

Come and Get It! Food and Wine Fest[edit]

Come and Get It is an annual, one-night food and wine festival featuring the final five chefs of the Battle for the Golden Fork and celebrity chefs.
