Louth Mavericks is an Irish American Football team based in the town of Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland. Founded in 2012 (formerly known as Dundalk Mavericks) and officially joined IAFA in 2014 and they currently play in the second tier of American Football Ireland league system - AFI-1.

History[edit]

Dundalk Mavericks American Football Club were founded by a group of friends in DKIT in 2012 and later, officially registering to IAFA in 2014. They would begin at the third tier league IAFL-2 and get to the championship final to play the Tyrone Titans but ultimately lost on the day. The Tyrone Titans failed to field a team for the 2015 season so the Dundalk Mavericks were promoted to IAFL-1. In 2016 the team rebranded to the Louth Mavericks American Football Club and moved their home games to their current grounds Dundalk Rugby Club.
