"Love Song", also known as Sarang-ga (Korean: 사랑가), is a song from the North Korean film Chunhyang-jon based on the Korean tale Chunhyangjŏn, ultimately based on the pansori Chunhyangga.
The film Chunhyang-jon, which "Love Song" is part of its soundtrack, is based on the Tale of Chunhyang. According to the tale, a Yangban (nobleman)[1] named Yi Mong-ryong fell in love with and married the daughter of a kisaeng, Seong Chunhyang. In Chunhyang-jon, North Korean singer Choe Sam Suk and Ri Kyung-hun played the main protagonists, Mong-ryong and Chunhyang. In 1982, an alternate version of the song was released as part of the romance film A Song of Love.
