Low Gap, Washington
Low Gap is an unincorporated community in Grant County, in the U.S. state of Washington.[1]
History[edit]
A post office called Lowgap was established in 1906, and remained in operation until 1921.[2] The community took its name from a gap in the Frenchman Hills near the original town site.[3] The gap was an important for travel in the region for the early European settlers in the region. The first known non-native resident was known only as The Frenchman, and lived in the area during the 1860s and 1870s[4]
