The Lubbock Matadors Soccer Club is an American soccer team based in Lubbock, Texas. The team plays in the Lone Star Conference of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. Their home games are played at Lowrey Field in Lubbock.
History
The Matadors were announced as an NPSL expansion team in 2021 led by Managing Partner Michael Hitchcock[1], part-owner of the Fort Worth Vaqueros, Napa Valley 1839 FC, Denton Diablos FC, and Appalachian FC of the NPSL. They began play in 2022.[2]
