Luca Manolache (17 May 2005 – 28 February 2025) was a Romanian footballer who played as a midfielder for FCSB, Chindia Targoviste and Metaloglobus Bucuresti.
Career
Being a promising youth player with appearances for Romania at junior level, Manolache was soon signed by Romanian giants FCSB, for which he played one senior match and several youth matches, before being loaned to Liga II teams to gain experience.[1]
Death
Manolache died from a ruptured aorta on 28 February 2025, at age 19. He had drowned in his own stomach acid[2] according to doctors, and had had no clear diagnosis, nor had he been training or playing for several months prior to the incident.[3]
