Lucy Boulton (born 2 January 1986) is a British beach volleyball player.

Career

Boulton began playing volleyball while attending Havering Sixth Form College from 2002 to 2004.[1] She then played in the Swedish league.[1] In 2005 she studied at the University of Exeter.[1] At the same time she completed 37 international matches for the national team.[1]

In 2006, Boulton switched to beach volleyball. She took part in the Junior World Championships in Mysłowice with Zara Dampney and finished 37th. She met her longtime partner Denise Johns through a talent program that same year.[1] Boulton/Johns played their first open tournaments on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour and twice finished 25th. The first Grand Slams followed in 2007. As the best international result of the year, they reached a 17th place at the Montreal Open. At national level they won the British Championship. In 2008, the duo finished 41st in the Open tournaments. Boulton completed the last four appearances of the year with Dampney and achieved a 17th place in Guarujá.

In 2009, Boulton and Johns were reunited. They took part in the 2009 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Stavanger. There, however, they could not win a set and had to say goodbye after the preliminary round. Nationally, however, they won the title for the second time. The following year they achieved two 17th places on the World Tour and finished 13th at the Phuket Open. At the 2011 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Rome, they managed to win against the Netherlands' team of Roos van der Hoeven and Jantine van der Vlist in the preliminary round, but were eliminated as one of the poorer third-placed teams. In the 2012 World Tour, 13th place in Sanya was the best result.

In 2013, Boulton formed a duo again with Dampney. Boulton/Dampney finished 17th at the Fuzhou Open and at the Grand Slam in Corrientes. At the 2013 World Championships in Stare Jabłonki, Boulton/Dampney were eliminated without a win after the preliminary round.
