Luis Baez Castellón (born January 1, 1980 in Managua), Nicaragua is an announcer, actor, television presenter, radio personality, and comedian. He is best known for his television show on the Nicaraguan channel Vos TV, ¡Que Bárbaro!. [1]
Life and Career
Luis Baez was born to Luis Baez and Blanca Castellón, a celebrated Nicaraguan poet. He attended the American Nicaraguan School (ANS) in Managua, where his outgoing personality and school spirit did not go unnoticed, which was why he was often chosen to host pep rallies and school events. Baez graduated from ANS in 1998 and went on to study at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
Baez returned to Nicaragua and began working for a local channel, VOS TV, owned by Nicaraguan millionaire Carlos Pellas Chamorro, where he began his own late-night talk show, the first of its kind in the country. He later expanded into radio, where he co-hosts a daily music show with Valeria Sánchez Hurtado.
In 2012, along with other local Nicaraguan celebrities, in an effort to help raise funds for Nicaraguan handicapped youth, Luis participated in a celebrity dance-off alongside his dance partner Ninoska Cantillano. This event helped raise more than 22 million Cordobas. [2]
Personal Life
Luis married his high school friend Valeria Cortez; together they have one son. He also has two younger brothers, Carlos and Javier.
