Lukas Schön (born 1984) is a German politician (BSW, formerly The Left). Schön was born in 1984 and is a political scientist and lives in Bonn. Schön ran for office at the state election in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 for Die Linke in the Leverkusen constituency. He achieved a result of 4.20%. He became managing director of his party in North Rhine-Westphalia.[1][2]

At a federal press conference on 23 October 2023 by members of the Bundestag Sahra Wagenknecht, Amira Mohamed Ali, Christian Leye, Ralph Suikat and he presented plans for a new party BSW, in a split from The Left. The main goal of the BSW association for the next time is to build the structure for the new party. Lukas Schön became managing director of Sahra Wagenknecht's new association.[3][4]

The Left in North Rhine-Westphalia, his old party, filed a criminal report against him on suspicion of data theft. Accordingly, Schön, as managing director of The Left in North Rhine-Westphalia, is said to have made a copy of the state association's membership file shortly before he left the party. According to Stern, this concerns the contact and address details of around 7,900 members of the regional association. Schön's actions were "conspicuous" and there was "no official reason" for it. "There is therefore a suspicion that Mr. Schön did not export the data to fulfil his employment contractual obligations, but rather in preparation for the project to establish a competing party."[5][6]
