Luke Robert Hemmings was born in 1996 (age 22) and is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist in the Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer (often shortened to 5sos). Other members of the band are lead guitarist Micheal Clifford, Bassist Calum Hood, and Drummer Ashton Irwin.

Luke Hemmings, Micheal Clifford and Calum Hood all went to the same high school,Northwest Christian College in Sydney, and they formed the band when Clifford and Hood joined Hemmings doing covers of other artists songs on Youtube. They later recruited Ashton Irwin via facebook. They now write their own songs and are popular worldwide.
