Luminate Education Group
Luminate Education Group (formerly Leeds City College Group[1]) brings together a number of secondary, further and higher education institutions in Yorkshire, England. It was renamed from Leeds City College Group in December 2018 to better reflect its growing portfolio of institutions.[2]
The chief executive of the group is Bill Jones, who replaced the previous chief executive, Colin Booth,[3] in January 2026.[4]
Organisation
The members of the group, as of October 2023[update] are:[5]
- Leeds City College,[1] formed from the merger in 2009 of Park Lane College Leeds, Leeds College of Technology and Leeds Thomas Danby College along with Joseph Priestley College (which joined in 2011)
- Harrogate College, which joined the Group on 1 August 2019.[1][6][7]
- Keighley College[1][8]
- Leeds Sixth Form College[9]
- Leeds Conservatoire, formerly Leeds College of Music[1]
- University Centre Leeds[10]
The group has over 30,000 students and apprentices.[5]
A strategic alliance with Leeds Beckett University concerned with improving access to education and skills across the Leeds City Region was announced in July 2026.[11]
