Lydick station

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Lydick was a former train stop for the South Shore Line. It opened around 1908, but there was another station named "Chain Lakes". It was abandoned in 1936 and destroyed by a structure fire. The stop was located on Quince Road. At one point, the Northern Indiana and Lake Shore & Michigan Southern and New York Central had stops in Lydick. The N.I. RR station was removed in 1936 after they abandoned their South Bend, Indiana to Michigan City track. The Lydick train station was also demolished once the NYC was dissolved into Penn Central Railroad.

The station was removed in 1956. A nearby station, Chain Lakes, was also open until 1936 when it was destroyed by fire.
