Lynn (previously also known as Benzler) is an unincorporated community in Pleasant Township, Marion County, Ohio, United States. It is located about 3 miles (4.8 km) northwest of Waldo along Newmans-Cardington Road, at 40°29′56″N 83°06′26″W / 40.49889°N 83.10722°W
History
The Benzler Post Office was established on December 9, 1897, but was discontinued on February 15, 1905.[4] In 1905, the Lynn Station was located here, on the Pennsylvania Railroad, but the siding was still called Benzler.[5] After losing its purpose as a mail station after the advent of Rural Free Delivery in 1905, the siding was discontinued on April 1, 1921, as a place to load freight.[6]
The name "Lynn" no longer applies to the area, and was last marked on maps issued by the Marion County, Ohio, Engineers Office in 1905.[citation needed]
