From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Lynne Ellsworth Larsen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in the US[1][2]. She was awarded her PhD in Art History in 2014 at the University of Arkansas Little Rock[3]. Since 2007, she has focused her studies on the art, architecture, and gender roles of the West African kingdoms, especially Dahomey, which is now part of modern-day Benin[2]. Larsen has co-written and published books detailing and documenting the Royal women of the precolonial west African kingdom of Dahomey and their pivotal roles in the kingdom’s politics, religion, and military endeavors. She also published a book in 2023 on the architecture of the Royal Palace of Dahomey. The book examines how the pre-colonial Kingdom of Dahomey (1625–1892), colonial Dahomey (1892–1960), and post-colonial Benin (1960–present) relate to each other's religious, cultural, and national identities.[4] In order to gather information for the book, Larsen traveled to Benin during the summer of 2022.
