Early Life and Career

Msimelelo Mankqoyi was born on 25 June 2000 in Khayelitsha, the biggest township in Cape Town. He is the second child of his Mother, and his brother Masxole Max Mankqoyi died in 1999 the year before Mankqoyi was born. At the age of nine, he started writing songs and rapping after school and during break time. He attended Joe Slovo Engineering High School and he proceed with his F.E.T levels in Y2K College Cape Town where he finished his 12th grade. His nickname MSI came from his identical name Msimelelo, it is abbreviated as My Self & I. His second name Cjay, came from friends in School and he was given for the way he characterized himself as Carl Johnson (Grand Theft Auto), by that time he was a bully and a threat to those who don't see eye to eye with him. In 2014 while attending High School, the rapper was affiliated with the neighborhood gang with his friends. Cjay and his friends would go to the Slums in Khayelitsha close to the CBD to perform gang criminal activities. In 2019 he left all criminal activities after his friend was killed brutally in front of a store in his neighborhood and he then focused on his music career In 2020 he worked as a waiter at Nando's so that he can make some extra bucks to push his talent. He ended up resigning for his reasons.

On 28 April 2023, he went all in with his music career, making his debut EP SATIVA available on Digital Streaming Platforms. It's his first project to be distributed all songs on major platforms. On 15 August after releasing his fourth playlist he took to social media and thanked his listeners and teased his second mixtape titled THIS IS FROM ME he is working on and it's a special Thanksgiving to his listeners and the mixtape will be released next year 2024.

On the 26 August 2023 the rapper posted on Facebook a picture where he was in the studio with his longtime friend and a 440 Records signee Rantie De Don. He started recording his second mixtape THIS IS FROM ME that day till January 2024. The mixtape contains of 16 tracks and with no features, the rapper wanted to give his full body of work individually. Three promotional singles were released "NEVER NEVER", "RIP SIM" & "SKOLI" . "SKOLI" debuted on no.19 on ReverbNation Cape Town local charts.

Influence

He state Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Travis Scott, he said "I listen to Weezy because he makes you feel comfortable and with his rhyming skills he is untouchable ya know what a mean". Lil Wayne is his biggest influence in Hip hop music.

It is his successful project at the moment, according to the streams and the date of its release. The project announced that it was accumulating 1.K streams in less than a Month. The rapper took to Social Media and post two tracks the same day, the other one was titled "FREE" a track which he recorded while he was in Eastern Cape and the second single was "Pull Up". FREE was submitted in RnB Philly it was certified 2X Platinum by the radio station's curators.

Winter Flowers

The Label is distributing music on Audiomack, SoundCloud, and Soundbuzzs.Boyzinbeatz released his Playlist titled Winter Flowers under the Label with the founder of the Label MSI Cjay featuring Mow UsY and Peezy G. The Playlist is the first Playlist to be available for selling under the Label. The Intro of the Project debuted at no#129 Local, no#1.2K National, and no#14K Global on ReverbNation. Personal Life

MSI Cjay once posted on his Facebook Page, that he is suffering from depression. The rapper seems to be in the good zone right now because he is better than before. On 3 September 2022 he lost his cousin, he later revealed that after the incident his depression went up and still today he haven't recovered.
