M. Aslam (6 August 1885 – 23 November 1983) was a novelist, fiction writer and poet from what became Pakistan. [1]

Biography[edit]

M. Aslam was born on 6 August 1885 in Lahore.[2][3][4]

He wrote more than 200 novels, including "Fatima Ki Aap Beti, Aros Ghobart, Battle of Badr, Fateh Makkah, Sobh Uhud, Maasaraya Yathrib, Abu Jahl, Joy Khoon, Pasban Haram, Shamshir Satam, Bint-e Haram, Ghazala Desert, Fitna Tatar, Blood Shaheeds" , Dance of Iblis, Mirza Ji, Nights of Sin, Dance of Life” and “Sada Bishra, Naghama Hayat” and “Sinner” Apart from this, he also translated from English. Then he also translated Waris Shah's Hir Ranjha from Punjabi into an excellent Urdu translation.[5]

Death[edit]

Aslam died on 23 November 1983 in Lahore, Pakistan, and was buried at Miani Sahib graveyard in Lahore.[2][3][4]
