The MAN 535 was a high-floor single-deck bus model produced by the German manufacturer MAN (Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg) between 1962 and 1969. It was designed for urban and interurban service and formed part of MAN’s lineup during a period of expansion in public transport systems in post-war Europe.
Overview
The MAN 535 was produced in two versions, the first was 9.30 meters long and called 535 HO R9, the second 10.30 meters, 535 HO R10. Depending on the configuration of the equipment, the first had 9 to 10 rows of seats, the second 10 to 11 rows, with a capacity of 37 to 45 passengers.
The bus was called 535 because "5" refers to the five tons of payload, and "35" because of the 135 hp of the engine.
