Alex Kolbe (born May 17, 1998), better known by his stage name MDNGHT (stylized as in all caps; pronounced "midnight"), is an American DJ and electronic dance music producer based in Sacramento, California.
Early life
Kolbe was born in Wareham, Massachusetts, but was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Upper Merion Area High School, where he was a member of the hockey team. He went on to join the United States Air Force as an F-35 Crew Chief, prior to moving to California to start his musical career. Alex was completely self-taught and met fellow Sacramento producers, where he developed a working relationship, subsequently resulting in numerous collaborations and frequently touring together throughout the west coast.
Career
2019–present
In the beginning, he created tech house and electronic samples and demos using Logic Pro. Later on, he started producing his own songs, as well as collaborating with other producers. He swiftly gained recognition from his bass-driven remixes of popular EDM songs. He appeared at We Are One Festival, which was his first festival performance. He has regularly toured and collaborated with fellow DJs and producers, whom he thanks for his continued success.
