- thanks for the correction. I had meant to type billion. For a $6 million firm my comment would have made little sense, because at that size, they're almost never covered. Depending on industry, the likely dividing range is somewhere between $100 million-$400 million for companies that actually make or do something; financial companies, at least 10 times higher in assets under management. MKS Instruments is a tech company based in the United States. It trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol MKSI. It acquired Oregon based Electro Scientific Industries in 2019. John T. C. Lee is president and CEO.[1] It is based in Andover, Massachusetts.[2]
MKS Instruments was founded in 1961. It produced a capacitance manometer.[3] It acquired Newport Corporation in 2016 and Electro Scientific (ESIO) in 2019.[3]
In 2021, MKS Instruments had about 5,400 employees and a market capitalization of about $11 billion.[4] John T. C. Lee became CEO in 2020. He also sits on the board of Sixtron.[5]
Sixty percent of the company's sales are from semiconductor products.[6]
