MK International School is an international primary and nursery school in Kampala, Uganda.[1] [2][3]It serves students ages 3 through 19. The school is authorized to offer three International Baccalaureate programs and is also accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Council of International Schools. The school provides international-standard education and operates both day and boarding sections for primary and secondary students. The school was established in 2009.
History
MK was found in 2009.The school was established to provide an English-medium education environment. In March 2019, the institution faced regulatory action when the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) temporarily closed its boys' hostel due to concerns regarding accommodation density and hygiene standards.[4] The school was cleared by KCCA in late 2025 as an International School with standards.[5]
Facilities
Following a 2019 regulatory intervention regarding accommodation standards, the school underwent a comprehensive infrastructural overhaul. In November 2025, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Directorate of Education and Social Services formally verified that the school's residential hostels and general premises met international benchmarks for hygiene, safety, and capacity[6]
