About MM Chandra Mouli[edit]
ChandraMouliMadalam received his B.Sc., in Mathematic, Physics and Chemistry from the S.V. University of Tirupati A.P India, he later moved to Chennai (formerly known as Madras, India), where he studied film making and specialized in cinematography.
He has received diploma in Film Technology (D.F.Tech). After graduation, he worked with Ashok Kumar, a veteran South Indian Cinematographer, as Chief Assistant. He was quickly recognized for his passion, dedication and hard work. He was promoted to Camera Operator's position and as a second-unit Director of Photography on more than 25 feature films.
Early in 1991, Chandra decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a Director of Photography. He completed over 20 feature film credits, more than 200 hours of television series & content and was a consultant on Cinematography with MeasatBroadcast networks (Astro Shaw) Kaulalumpur, Malaysia. By 1998, he had produced a popular children TV series titled "ZEE ...BOOM... BHA...." for U.T.V (a premiere studio which produced the acclaimed director Mira Nair's film "The Namesake").
In the year 2000, he moved to New York, and has collaborated with renowned cinematographers Fred Murphy ASC (The Mothman Prophecies, Anamorph), Ken Kelsch ASC (The Medium, Bad Lieutenant).
He has also worked on various Documentaries, News Reels for mainstream TV (PBS/BBC, ESPN) as well as for ethnic TV Networks such as TV Asia, AVS TV, Namaste America, Sahara TV, Sony Entertainment Asia, ITV, JUS Punjab, AsiaNet and many other TV Broadcastnet works.
During that period met with the acclaimed Film Director Jag Mundhra, Chandra saw the opportunity and moved to London to work with him as Director of Photography, this relationship has culminated to a strong working partnership on several of his feature films, Natasha, Back waters and many other titles.
He is founding partner of Creative Cinemas NY LLC. a film production and distribution power house and distributed overseas most successful movies titled Rangasthalam (Telugu-2018), Tholiprema (Telugu-2018), Kumari 21F (Telugu-2014), Saithan (Tamil-2016) and many other films and produced and directed 100% Kaadhal (Tamil-2018)
With a film background that began 20 years ago (and a matching attitude to quality) Chandra Mouli thrives on high energy projects requiring quality, creativity, speed, commitment and economy.
