'MOHD MA’SUM BILLAH[1], an Islamic finance scholar, was born on 01 March 1968. He is a Malaysian by nationality. His father was Mufti Mawlana Nur Mohammad (r), specializing in Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and Tasawwuf. His mother Ustazah Akhtarun Nisa’ (r) had also been a religious teacher specializing in al-Qur'an, Sunnah, Fiqh and Tasawwuf through her self-learning, practices and teaching others particularly among women.

Marital Background[edit]

Billah married to Khamsiah Nawawi[2] in 1993, who serves the government of Malaysia as a physician. They are blessed with 4 kids (3 boys and 1 daughter). The eldest is Ahmad Mu'izz Billah who is currently (2018) pursuing with his 4th year of MBBS at the faculty of Medicine at Cyberjaya University College of Medical Science, Malaysia. The 2nd is Ahmad Mu'azz Billah who has just completed his SPM ('O' Level) from the Royal Military College (RMC), Malaysia. He is currently (2018) applying for the aeronautical engineering program as his continuing education. The 3rd is Ahmad Muniff Billah who is currently (2018) pursuing with his Form 4 at the Royal Military College (RMC), Malaysia. The 4th is Akhtarun Naba' Billah who is currently (2018) pursuing with her Form 3 at the Maktab Rendah Sains Malaysia (MRSM).

Career and Position[edit]

Currently Billah serves as a Professor of Finance and Insurance at the Islamic Economics Institute, King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia[3]. Also Adjunct Professor of Finance, Centre for Islamic thought and education, University of South Australia (UniSA) Australia[4]. He is in the audit committee of the ACIG, Saudi Arabia[5]. Prior to this position he served the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) as a Director in charge of Global Trade and Investment Cooperation (OIC Countries) based in Jeddah. He served the Kulliyah of Economics and Management Sciences of the International Islamic University Malaysia[6] as an Associate Professor. He had also served corporate sectors, universities, institutions, NGOs and organizations in several countries in his different management and also professional capacities.
