MS Project[edit]
Following project was created using the MS Project online version through the use of Office. In the following project, tasks and milestones are created for the case study of "Whale Printing Press". In the project deadlines were discussed about a job which the company has accepted from a company for their brochure. It required 10,000 copies to be published in a 5 days timeline. The job was considered and accepted by the company's President, Victor Hussey. In order to work out the job additional to their ongoing work, the estimation was made and time conversion done to put it in the project and timeline.
Each Department's task was to be done based upon the use of several parameters and the limitations. The department has been assigned a value for their overall compensation of budget. The Lithography department was the first in and had 2 hours of work line followed by the tasks of Press and Cut & Bind department which took the most time, 4 hours per task. It was then to be ended at the point of Package and Shipping. The whole job was to be essentially of cost 840 pounds.
Resource Conflict[edit]
Resource conflict was encountered in the project where the process was overloaded. In the first resource allocation, the conflict was encountered when the resources were allocated too much. The issue was faced when there existed further needs of resources and timeline which was to be kept in mind. In this resource conflict, the cut and binding department was overwhelmed. The overwhelmed process was to be resolved through the use of tool in the MS Project. In MS project, the process was used to have the conflicts resolved.
As the conflict was occurring because there was an overallocation of a resource, therefore the resource has to be levelled. This was done using the Level Resources Conflict after checking all the resources. The further help was taken from the use of Level Resources where the resource which was overallocated was selected in the Dialogue Box and selected to be resolved. The leveling made the conflicts go away.
Gantt Chart Verdict[edit]
The final Gantt Chart showed the projections and it proposed that the same project was to be completed in a Week's time with the budget cost estimation of 840 pounds.
Preparing Full Budget[edit]
The use of MS project was done here using the provided parameters and deadlines. There are tow types of costs which are fixed and variable costs It means that the overall course of project was made in the feasible environment when done in practical had to take into account both of these.[1] The project in real world has several additional costs which are encountered and needs to be accounted for in the use of MS project whereas current project had only direct calculations which were provided.[2] Sometimes there exist the cost of overpricing factor or the raised quotation from suppliers for the raw material. These additional costs might come from the maintenance and miscellaneous costs which are incurred in large number of amounts on such projects, Meanwhile, it also needs to ensure that there are several other issues which needs to be taken care of.[3]
